Protein C ­ Clot Based [PCCLOT]

Method: Stago Clottable Protein C Assay

Patients on hirudin (Refludan) and argatroban (Novastan) may show prolonged clotting times due to the direct thrombin inhibition. This may cause an over-estimation of the functional Protein C concentration. Patients on coumadin therapy may see a decrease in Protein C activity.
