NW Immigrant Rights ProjectOn June 15, 2012 President Obama announced that his administration would grant a form of immigration protection known as the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) to some undocumented youth.  The policy has the potential to change the lives of more than 40,000 youth in Washington State.  The Carlson Civic Fellow will work closely with Northwest Immigrant Rights Project staff to arrange the organization’s responses to this announcement.

The Carlson Civic Fellow will be responsible for assisting in several areas of event/workshop planning, communication, volunteer coordination and data management. This position will also work closely with the development department in implementing strategic fundraising activities, and will participate in other development efforts.
