The 2013 SPRING CELEBRATION OF SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP a HUGE SUCCESS!
On Tuesday, May 7, 2013 over a 100 students and 200 guests participated in the Spring Celebration of Service and Leadership in the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center on the University of Washington, Seattle campus. The Spring Celebration of Service and Leadership is a yearly event that allows students to showcase their work and learning related to service and leadership experiences.

Service-Learning Evaluation Report for 2011-2012 (PDF)
In 2011-2012, the Carlson Center supported 96 service-learning courses across a variety of academic areas, placing 2,933 undergraduate students in volunteer positions with hundreds of non-profit organizations, providing approximately 58,660 hours of service toward a variety of needs in the local community. Carlson Center featured on the February 2012 edition of UW 360 in preparation for the upcoming 20th Anniversary Celebration!
UW 360 is a magazine-style show that profiles the fascinating people, programs and community connections that define the University of Washington. This February's episode contained a special spotlight on the Carlson Center - "stories on service learning integrated with academics." The episode features students serving at the U District Food Bank and Pike Senior Center, watch for interviews with our partners Joe Grubber and Zoe Freeman, as well as the Carlson Center's new Director, Rachel Vaughn!
