Responsibilities: Dr. Kimberly Espinoza is Director of the Dental Education in the Care of Persons with Disabilities (DECOD) Program at the UW School of Dentistry. She provides clinical and didactic instruction to a variety of oral health professions students, residents and fellows in the care of patients with developmental and acquired disabilities. Dr. Espinoza is on the board of the Special Care Dentistry Association and is President-Elect for Special Care Advocates in Dentistry. She is past Chair of the SCDA Council on Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities. Additionally, Dr. Espinoza serves as an advisor for the UW Chapter of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry and recently became a Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Special Smiles Program. Dr. Espinoza's passion is in training the dental team in the care of adults with developmental disabilities to reduce access barriers to oral health care for this population.
