The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (formerly the American Association of University Affiliated Programs for Persons with Developmental Disabilities) promotes and supports the national network of university centers on disabilities, which also includes Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Programs and Developmental Disabilities Research Centers (DDRC).

Maternal and Child Health Bureau

The Children's Bureau was established in 1912. In 1935, the U.S. Congress enacted Title V of the Social Security Act, which authorized the Maternal and Child Health Services programs and provided a foundation and structure for assuring the health of American mothers and children.

Maternal and Child Health Training Program

The MCH Training Program of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) funds public and private non-profit institutions of higher learning to provide leadership training in maternal and child health (MCH). NOTE: A competitive Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities interdiscplinary training grant from MCHB is the core of interdisciplinary training in the Clinical Training Unit, CHDD. We have been fortunate to hold this grant through seven cycles since the inception of such grants. The grant provides stipends to most of our long term trainees and partial salaries for over 20 faculty and staff.

The MCH Alert provides timely Maternal and Child Health research and findings, policy developments, information about recently released publications, new programs and initiatives, and conferences affecting the MCH community. The National Center for Education in Maternal and Child Health provides national leadership to the maternal and child health community in three areas--program development, policy analysis and education, and state-of-the-art knowledge--to improve the health and well-being of the nation's children and families. Publications can be downloaded from their web site.

This organization manages the Bright Futures Project and operates the Healthy Start National Resource Center and the National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center.

Title V Information System
