What Makes a Leader Great?
Empathy makes a leader great. The ability to put ones’ self in another’s shoes is indispensable for a leader to relate to, and influence, those around him. A clear mind and a clear goal without selfishness are also essential to great leadership. Great leaders recognize and champion the accomplishments of others, and take responsibility for failures and successes alike.
What is Your Leadership Style?
My leadership style is very participative. I don’t seek out leadership opportunities, but when I see a need for direction I’m usually able to calmly bring order to chaos. Ego is never a strong factor in my leadership. I don’t like telling people what to do at all. Instead I try to make sure everyone is aware of collective goals and why they should choose to fulfill their individual roles.
What Inspires You to Lead Others?
An existing lack of leadership inspires me to lead others. I don’t like failing to achieve anything that I’ve resolved to accomplish. If there is any aspect that I can influence to achieve success, I’m going to pursue it. I have strong conceptual and critical thinking skills, so I like to influence strategy. What better way to do that than by leading?
