Martin Coles joined HaloSource as a member of the board in July 2011 and was appointed president and chief executive officer in October 2011. Prior to joining HaloSource, he held the positions of chief operating officer and later president of Starbucks Coffee International. His career also includes 35 years of serving in a variety of senior executive and board positions at Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, Nike and Reebok. He also served as a non-executive director at Levi Strauss. Mr. Coles began his career at Procter & Gamble UK in 1977 as a graduate-entry production manager. He currently serves on the not-for-profit International Education Advisory Boards of the University of Washington Business School at Bothell and Seattle University, where he is a fellow of the Albers Business School. He previously served as chairman of the UW Foster Business School Advisory Board.

He is a graduate of the University of Wales at Swansea, where he received a BSc Hons in Biochemistry, is married with 4 children (21, 19, 15 and 13) and is an avid SeaHawks supporter and Lacrosse parent.

Our Company

We are a Bothell, WA. based London listed company (AIM: HALO.L) employing class leading and proprietary technologies (100+ patents) based on natural and synthetic polymeric chemistry to treat water in the following 3 business segments:

1) Drinking Water Purification (HaloPure) – A $15 billion segment growing at double digit rates

We are active in India, China, SEA, and Latin America with more than 10 million people drinking our water daily in Point of Use, Point of Entry applications.

Our core technology employs cartridge “filters” containing chemically modified brominated polystyrene beads which create an enclosed “contact kill” environment which at the appropriate concentration is 99.9999% and 99.99% effective respectively in bacterial kill and permanent viral deactivation. Our treatment system will also remove 99.9% of harmful cysts effectively eradicating the causes of waterborne disease, which causes 85% of microbial illness.

Our recurring revenue model is driven through replacement cartridges (approximately 6 month purification capacity) which are component parts of our strategic partners devices.

Strategic relationships with key players in this segment drives adoption and market expansion fueled by our core science and technology.

2) Environmental Water Purification (HaloKlear) – A $26 billion segment growing at double digit rates.

We are active in North and South America, parts of SEA, Australia, New Zealand and are actively exploring opportunities in India and China.

Our Natural BioPolymer based science provides a greener solution for the Industrial clarification business with current segments of use including Storm Water and Construction run off, Sediment removal in environmentally sensitive projects (Hydro Electric plant installs), Dredging, Mining, Oil and Gas exporation etc

3) Pool and Spa Purification (SeaKlear) – A $3 billion segment growing at +/- inflation rates.

This business is primarily North America based today although we do see increasing usage and opportunities in EMEA and Asia Pacific.

Our SeaKlear brand is widely recognized as the industry innovator and we are focusing today on how we bring consumer led innovation to market through executions which remove the “chemistry set” approach from the end user experience replacing this with an easy to understand and deploy dosing system
