Peer Health Education (PHE)

Welcome to the PHE (Peer Health Education) website! PHEs are a student-based program dedicated to promoting health & wellness to the UW population. We used to be a part of Hall Health, but moved to Health & Wellness in Student Life in Summer 2013. Our new H&W home brings us a new space (Health & Wellness in Elm Hall on West Campus) as well as new opportunities for collaboration. Together with Health & Wellness, we will be rolling out new presentations, new programs, and much more in the 2014 – 2015 school year.


Mission Statement

As Peer Health Educators, it is our mission to be one with our peers.  To be allies in promoting, education, and empowering healthy choices.  To reach out with resources, information, and support.  To take the lead in challenging unhealthy societal attitudes and cultural norms.  In all our work, we will embrace and respect all differences in our community and strive to embody our values in all aspects of our lives.

Presentations

Our presentations cover various health related topics but primarily focus on alcohol as well as sexual health and sexual boundaries and communication. Previous presentation groups have included Fraternities, Sororities, Residence Halls, Freshmen Interest Groups (FIGS), and more. We are constantly updating, researching, and improving our presentations. Click here to request a presentation!


The WellDawg

The WellDawg is researched and written by Peer Health Educators. It was printed and distributed once per quarter to all Greek Housing, Residence Halls, Advising Departments, Hall Health, and other various buildings around campus. We have an archive of these publications in the WellDawg section.

We have since turned out printed form into a new online WellDawg blog that can be found here!
