Computer Labs & Classrooms

For Students

Come to the Computing Lab (UW students only) to use multilingual internet access, word processing, and language learning software:

Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL)

The LLC provides CALL courseware for integration into language curricula, providing self-paced as well as instructor-led learning activities. The courseware consists of interactive multimedia programs with visuals, sound, text, video, and self- or teacher-evaluation capabilities.

Foreign language computing

Multilingual word processing, web browsing, and email resources are also available.

For Instructors

The LLC has three language labs. Instructors may bring their students into our labs to conduct class sessions using digital or analog video and audio, cable television, or satellite downlinks. Students can listen to prepared material and record their voices. Teachers can monitor student pronunciation individually and/or in groups.

Additionally, there are drop-in labs for student use. The drop-in labs are available during our regular hours of operation.
