Bob manages a number of LLC IT areas, and spends a fair amount of time working on streaming media publishing and media production.
Bob has a B.A. from The Evergreen State College primarily in Electronic Media Communications, and has completed a great deal of coursework working toward his M.Ed. in Educational Technology at the University of Washington.
Cecile is a member of the LLC Desktop Support team that provides computer technical assistance to faculty and staff in the language departments. She has worked with faculty, staff, and students in the Division of Spanish & Portuguese Studies and the Division of French & Italian Studies for fifteen years. Cecile has a B.A. in French, Drama and Comparative Literature from Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania.
Russell worked at the LLC for over seven years functioning as an SA for the Linguistics department. He now is a permanent staff member at LLC but still supports linguistics and many of the same projects. Some of the primary projects include working on this website, and Moodle. Previous work before the LLC focused on video, graphics, web and publishing software (e.g., Adobe CC, HTML, CSS, PHP. JS). He received his PhD from the UW Linguistics Department in 2016. His academic interests are focused on Indigenous language vitalization, Computer Assisted Language Learning, and language attitudes in relation to language policy. Languages: English, Korean and Latin.
Larry is responsible for the day to day operations of our classrooms and labs. His duties include the set-up, troubleshooting and repairing of analog and digital equipment, assisting our senior computing specialists, providing assistance to the instructors who use our labs, recording and dubbing of audio and video materials, and the training of our student employees. After fifteen years as a watch repairman, Larry resumed his education and received a B.A. in Communications from the University of Washington in 1997.
Sherri started working at the Language Learning Center in 1995 and is responsible for everything from answering the phones to balancing the budgets. She enjoys the variety of responsibilities that her job provides her and most important, she enjoys the people she comes in contact with on a daily basis. She feels privileged to work in UW's beautiful environment and always enjoys her excursions across the campus grounds.
Marlin Eller was a programmer who was a manager and a software developer at Microsoft Corporation from 1982-1995, and he was development lead for GDI (subsystem of Windows 1.0) and also for Pen Windows. He was also a co-founder and the CEO of Sunhawk Digital Music LLC. He was also the chairman of the game development company called Reflexive Entertainment.
He received his Bachelor of Art in Mathematics from Whitman College in 1974. He then went on for his Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Washington.
