Sony Soloist
Overview:
Soloist is the student application for listening to, and watching, media. It can be used for recording students' voices and for interacting with the instructor and other students. Interaction requires use together with the instructor application Virtuoso. Soloist is also used for creating Auto Segmented Recordings for testing students.
The Sony Soloist Digital PC Comparative Recorder is a powerful tool that helps brings languages to life. To the right you'll see the main graphical user interface (GUI) screen of the Soloist software. Think of it as an electronic tape recorder, one that is capable of drill recording, where you can listen to one track while recording another track (for example, listening to a program where someone is speaking in a foreign language while you record your voice in response). You can then playback both tracks for comparison.
