LLC newsletter
Polyglot, the LCC newsletter, is available both online and in printed form. The online version is viewable with Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 and above. If you don't have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer, you can download it for free.
If you would like to be on the mailing list for the printed version of Polyglot, email your mailing address (for on-campus addresses, include your name, department name, and campus box number) to llc@u.washington.edu.

Electronic classrooms
You can reserve electronic classrooms for language study and cultural activities, to listen to audio tapes, and to watch video and satellite TV programs.

Resource development
The LLC works with language departments to support successful language learning by developing computer-based language instruction resources. The LLC is currently focusing on the development of web-based language resources; online demonstrations of various types of language learning technology are available to give a sense of what types of web-based resources can be developed.
If you are interested in having the LLC develop resources to include in your curriculum, please conact your department's Staff Associate.
Instructor development
The UW, UW Outreach, and other organizations offer instructor development opportunities. Check back here periodically for new links to help you continue to develop your pedagogical skills and provide an effective classroom environment.
Videotape conversion
The LLC offers videotape conversion between U.S. and international formats. Please contact your department's Staff Associate for details.
Web-based quizzes, discussion groups, anonymous feedback: Catalyst
Many tools useful to language instructors are available through the Catalyst instructional technology project. Using Catalyst, you can design web-based surveys and quizzes, set up student discussion groups and anonymous feedback forms, allow students to easily send you files, and more.
The LLC can provide assistance with integrating Catalyst tools into a language learning context. Contact your department's Staff Associate for details.
