The University of Washington Language Advisory Board (UWLAB) - An interdepartmental coordinating, sponsoring, and advisory body for the furtherance of second-language study and applied linguistics at the University of Washington.
The Puget Sound Academic Alliance for Foreign Languages - An organization for world language professionals at all levels of instruction to meet and discuss concerns in their field and their daily work. The founding idea of the Alliance, which is part of a national network, is that all professionals have common concerns: alliances must be composed of K-12 and post-secondary people.
Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB) - An organization developing an efficient college admissions system which will respond to both K-12 reform and differing types of preparation (technical/academic). It will develop a distinctive assessment prototype to provide feedback on student performance to universities and high schools. The HECB will establish a model that allows for timely and manageable review of competency-based standards for college admissions.
Washington HECB Language Admission Standards - Minimum standards for world language competency. In the near future, these standards must be met in order to gain admission to any post-secondary, baccalaureate institution within the state of Washington.
