Chief, Hematology Laboratory / Transfusion Service

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking a division chief for the Hematology Laboratory / Transfusion Service at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH), San Francisco. The position is at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Clinical or Clinical X series, which emphasizes teaching, clinical service, and creative activities. Applicants must hold a M.D. degree, be eligible for licensure in the state of California, be board certified in either AP/CP or CP and Hematopathology or Blood Banking / Transfusion Medicine.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operations of the hematology laboratory and the transfusion service at SFGH, one of four UCSF academic teaching hospitals. Strong commitment to the excellence in resident and medical student teaching is expected. Postgraduate professional experience is preferred but not required. For appointment in the clinical X series commitment to research or other creative activities is expected. Salary and title will be commensurate with applicant's experience and training.
