Erica Chavez: Biology Major
Erica has previously participated in the IMSD Teach Lab internship, doing research in a bioengineering lab at UW. She is from a small town called Pateros, WA. She is the first in my family to go to college and she has recieved various scholarships that are helping her fund her education. Scholarships include: the Credit Union Scholarship, George Washington Foundation Scholarship, Dollars for Scholars, Sea Mar Scholarship, CAMP (College Assistance Migrant Program), University of Washington BAVA Scholarship, KFC Colonel's Scholarship, and Gates Millenium Scholars. She went on an exploration seminar in Chile. Her plan is to go to medical school after she graduates. She is also thinking about attending graduate school. On campus she has been involved with CAMP, LSAMP, Al Shifa, IMSD (Innitiative for Maximizing Student Diversity), and LMSA (Latino Medical Student Association).
