NEW - MADISON INFLUENZA PLAN - 2012 The Harborview Madison Clinic provides medical care and social services for persons living with HIV/AIDS regardless of sexual orientation, race, or ability to pay. Harborview Medical Center is affiliated with the University of Washington and is recognized nationally for its patient care, teaching, and research in HIV-related diseases. Each patient is a partner in the management of HIV/AIDS. They are encouraged to ask questions, understand the reasons for tests and procedures, and let us know how we can help. Each patient has a primary care provider who organizes the services required. Other members of the care team include nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers and specialists (acupuncture, dermatology, neurology, obstetrics, oncology, and psychiatry). Extensive case management is the hallmark of HIV/AIDS care at Harborview, and everything is done to coordinate care and reassure patients that this complex illness is being addressed comprehensively. Patients will be seen regardless of their ability to pay. Our financial counselors can help determine whether patients qualify for medical benefit programs. Other Harborview clinics and services may be appropriate for care, including the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit, Infectious Disease Clinic (through Madison Clinic) and Seattle-King County Public Health’s Sexually Transmitted Diseases program. We have also expanded our HIV clinical services to a Satellite Clinic in Kitsap County Health District, which is located in Bremerton, WA and now in Snohomish County Health District in Everett, WA. Free health care information and classes are also offered through Harborview’s Patient and Family Resource Center. Appointments and ReferralsNew patients should call the Patient Care Coordinator 206-744-5155 to schedule their first appointment. The initial review will cover the medical history, current health, previous health care providers, and medical coverage. Routine appointments may be made by calling 206-744-5100. Established patients may be seen on an urgent walk-in basis by calling the clinic and speaking with a triage nurse. For further guidance, see Madison Clinic Referral Guidelines (141k PDF*).
