CURRENT PARTNERS BETHEL SCHOOL DISTRICTWe have been working with school leadership teams from each elementary school to prepare them to facilitate professional development days. Principals have participated in Lenses on Learning seminars. And a group of teachers Grades 3 to 8 are participating in Developing Mathematical Ideas, Reasoning about Operations. KENT SCHOOL DISTRICTTeachers from 5 schools in the district experienced the first DMI seminar, Building a System of Tens. KIONA-BENTON CITY SCHOOL DISTRICTWe are assisting school leadership teams to use Young Mathematicians at Work in their buildings and to develop long-term professional development plan for mathematics. LAKEWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICTElementary faculty have begun to experiment with the Cogntively Guided Instruction framework as they pose tasks to children. The administrative team is engaging in the Lenses on Learning seminars. Teams of elementary teachers visited and observed classrooms in other districts to discuss how teachers elicit and build children’s thinking in the classroom. PUYALLUP SCHOOL DISTRICTMath coaches are participating in DMI, Reasoning about Operations RENTON SCHOOL DISTRICTMath coaches are experiencing computational fluency seminars. Elementary principals are participating in the LOL seminars.
