Elastic deformation

Back to Case study
Elastic deformation Lesson/Tutorial  A material when stretched and then returns to its original shape is called elastic. A common example is a rubber band is called elastic.  Polymers, like rubber, are generally more elastic than metals. And metals are generally more elastic than ceramics. When a material is stretched under a heavy load then when released returns to its original shape is called elastic deformation.
