Modulus of elasticity

Back to Case study
Modulus of elasticity Lesson/Tutorial   This quantity describes the stiffness of a material.  A very stiff material like steel girders in a building has a high Modulus of Elasticity. It will not permanently deform or change its shape when under a heavy load.  Gold is soft and has a low Modulus of Elasticity.  The building would collapse if made of gold.
