Pearlite Lesson/Tutorial | This is a two-phase microstructure, which is in the form of alternating layers of a-ferrite and cementite. It is found in eutectic composition steels and cast irons. When this eutectic steel or cast iron is cooled, it passes from the austenite phase directly into this pearlite microstructure. |
