Permanent mold casting

Back to Case study
Permanent mold casting Lesson/Tutorial   This is a type of casting similar to die casting but without high pressures.  Two dies (molds) are fit together with the inside machined out to a desired shape.  Molten metal is then poured into the mold and enters the shaped cavity by gravity.  The metal solidifies, the mold is opened, and the final casting is taken out.
