Yielding Lesson/Tutorial | When
a load is applied to a material and is continually increased the material
will deform.
At first, the deformed material will return to its original shape
when the load is taken away.
But, at a larger load the material deforms permanently and cannot
return to its original shape when the load is removed.
This transition from recoverable to permanent deformation is
yielding. |
