Prior to attending the Foster School of Business, Lucas spent 4 ½ years as a Senior Research Associate at a small biotech company in the Bay Area, OncoMed Pharmaceuticals. While at OncoMed, his main responsibilities were in the testing of new target molecules and the elucidation of their mechanism of action. Just prior to OncoMed, he opened a small wine bar in the San Jose area as his first entrepreneurial venture. At the Foster School, Lucas plans to study entrepreneurial finance in the hopes of moving into a venture capital or business development role in the biotech industry. He has put his new knowledge to work with an internship in Corporate Development at Dendreon Corp.
Dan Bush is a dual MBA/MHA degree candidate at the University of Washington. Prior to returning to graduate school, Dan worked as a project manager for a non-profit medical association, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. There he collaborated with nationally-renowned physicians to develop and implement cutting edge medical education. Dan is continually enthralled by healthcare’s never-ending challenges and the innovative business solutions needed to deliver quality healthcare to America. This past summer Dan worked in Hospital Operations at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Outside of work, Dan enjoys cooking, hiking and exploring new cities.
Jenny Brackett, Vice President of Marketing & Events

Jenny Brackett is a dual Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration (MBA/MHA) degree candidate at the University of Washington. She currently serves as an MHA intern for the UW Medical Center Planning & Referral Department and as a board member for Group Health Foundation through the Foster Board Fellows program. Prior to graduate school, Jenny worked in public relations and marketing for a broad range of clients including Swedish Medical Center, Allen Institute for Brain Science and Intel Corporation, among others. Jenny graduated from the University of Washington in 2005 with Bachelors of Arts degrees in communication and psychology.
Sylvia Jing Liu, Vice President of Marketing & Events

Prior to the Foster MBA Program, Sylvia held a process scientist position at Seattle Genetics, a biotechnology company in Bothell, WA. While at Seattle Genetics, a significant portion of her responsibility was to analyze process flow and manage key quality control projects. She graduated from University of Washington with a degree in biophysics and is currently interested in finance and strategy. Sylvia would like to work in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry after graduation. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming and hiking.
