The Global Business Association (GBA) is the one of the most important clubs at Foster and has the potential to impact every single student in the program, regardless of background or academic interest. At some point, every one of us will be working in the global marketplace, even if working domestically, and it is crucial that students are exposed to the tremendous value and opportunity that lies within the world of global business. As our student body is represented by nearly 35 percent international students, it is vital that their experiences and backgrounds are represented and highlighted so that we can all learn from them, in addition to our professors.
The GBA is a student-led organization that falls under MBA Association (MBAA). Our club focuses on providing its members with opportunities to explore international business issues, cross-cultural differences, and develop cross-border professional relationships. Here are just a few of the activities that we have planned for the upcoming year:
Professional Events – international business speakers on campus, company onsite visits, and offsite networking events. We regularly have networking events with some of Seattle’s top international organizations such as the Young Professionals International Network (YPIN), World Affairs Council, and the Japan American Society (JAS).
We hope to enhance your Foster MBA experience through our culturally diverse focused events. If you have any questions about the club, its activities, feel free to get in touch with me, or any of the leadership board.
