Current projects in the Hol lab are:
- Unraveling the assembly and mode of action of the Type 2 Secretion System (T2SS) in pathogenic bacteria.
- Understanding and inhibiting the invasion machinery of the malaria parasite.
- Determining the architecture and dynamics of the Editosome from the sleeping sickness parasite, responsible for the most extensive RNA-editing process known in biology.
- Structure-based design of inhibitors of tRNA-synthetases from the sleeping sickness parasite and other trypanosomatids.
