MCB Program Requirements - Third Year

Third Year Course and Activity Listing

AUTUMN, WINTER, SPRING & SUMMER QUARTERS

MCB 600 Research
(1-10 non-graded credits)
[prior to passing the General Examination]

MCB 800 Dissertation Research
(1-10 non-graded credits)
[after passing the General Examination]

General Ph.D. Candidacy Examination

  • Students schedule the General Examination by the end of Winter Quarter.
  • General Examination must be completed by the end of Spring Quarter (June). The Examination paperwork must be turned into the Graduate School by the last day of Spring Quarter.
  • For the incoming class of 2008 and beyond:
    • Students schedule the General Examination by the end of Autumn Quarter.
    • General Examination must be completed by the end of Winter Quarter (March). The Examination paperwork must be turned into the Graduate School by the last day of Spring Quarter.

Program and Departmental Activities
Students attend the evening student/faculty seminar series sponsored by the MCB Program.
