Research

Research Summary:

The Emerman lab studies host-cell interactions of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and related viruses. We wish to understand the molecular and evolutionary basis of virus replication and pathogenesis. Our major projects currently are the study of how host antiviral genes have evolved during primate evolution, and the study of events that occur early after HIV enters its host cells.
