Research

Research Summary:

The overall goals of the Paddison lab revolve around using functional genetic approaches to uncover the molecular networks that regulate mammalian cell identity. Through the use of in vitro human stem cell systems, we identify and characterize gene products affecting stem cell self-renewal/expansion, differentiation, proliferation, and survival. Projects currently underway in lab include:

  • Histone H3K9me2 epigenetic patterning during human hematopoietic stem cell lineage formation;
  • Functional genetic dissection of human hematopoietic stem cell myeloid lineage formation;
  • Identification of key molecular and cell identity pathways required for human Brain Tumor Stem Cell expansion;
  • Functional genetic dissection of embryonic stem cell differentiation.
