Research

Research Summary:

We are currently studying the development and regeneration of the eye in mouse models of retinal degenerative diseases.  Current projects include (1) the use of human embryonic stem cells to repair damaged retinas (2) analysis and stimulation of endogenous reprogramming mechanisms that occur during regenerative responses to injury; (3) studies of developmental mechanisms into the role of miRNAs, proneural transcription factors and the Notch signaling pathway in retinal neurogenesis and cell fate determination.
