MCB Fall Gathering Review
by Jennifer Cech and Erica Sanchez
With almost 60 students in attendance, this year’s Fall Gathering was a big success. The night started with light refreshments and an informal poster session. 1st through 6th year students enjoyed an MCB tradition: a catered Thai dinner followed by pumpkin and apple pie for dessert. There was even enough food left over to satisfy a few well-prepared MCB students sporting empty tupperware. Entertainment was provided by all 19 1st years in the form of an interactive presentation. Fun facts were presented and the audience was asked to guess which 1st year the fact pertained to. We learned that the MCB 1st years are an exciting and eclectic class of world travelers, music lovers, table tennis champions, and even sushi enthusiasts. 1st year fun facts were followed by post-dinner activities, including Thanksgiving-inspired arts and crafts and balloon trivia. Construction paper, feathers, and googley eyes made for vibrant holiday hats and uniquely decorated hand turkeys. Most excitingly, these one of a kind hand turkeys came together to form a large collective turkey.
This MCB masterpiece is currently on display in the MCB office and can be seen when you visit! With that, we would like to thank all students who volunteered before, during and after the event. Thank you!
