Application Prequisites
Prospective students must meet the minimum requirements:
- Possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in the U.S. or its equivalent from a foreign institution
- Have earned at least a 3.0 or B grade-point-average in the most recent two years of study
- Evidence of professional work experience in a field related to communication or digital media, or exemplary undergraduate achievement in related field.

GRE, GMAT, or LSAT scores are required, but by petition this requirement may be waived for those with previous graduate work or substantial work experience in communication, technology, or related field.
Scores must be received directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS)
- International applicants must also take the Test of English Fluency (TOEFL)
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS: An international applicant is anyone who is not a United
States citizen or Permanent Resident. If you are able to answer "yes" to the following four
questions, you are eligible to apply to graduate study at the University of Washington.
- Do you have, or will you by the time you begin your graduate studies, the equivalent of at least a four year U.S. bachelor's degree?
- Have you taken or do you plan to take the required tests (GRE, TOEFL)?
- Do you have funding sources to provide the approximately $35,835.00. (U.S., 2006-07) per year (excluding summer quarter) necessary for all expenses of attending?
