MCDM courses are project-centered, and students may also propose a project, as a form of independent study/research, for 5 credit hours.

Twenty students are currently producing five short films based on the common them of “Transformation." We’ve selected the Flip as our exclusive media capture device (even though we have access to regular DV and HDV cameras) because there’s an amateur content revolution happening right now, and it’s important that we understand the consequences of this seismic change in human communication. Recent (2006) MCDM graduate Susan Eick presented a paper at the HICSS Conference (Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences) in Indonesia in January. Title: A History of Indonesian Telecommunication Reform 1999-2006.

Jyotsna Natarajan (2007 graduate) has created a portfolio website featuring her MCDM projects. While a student in the program, she has interned at the Seattle Times and KUOW.
