Department of Medicinal Chemistry - Information for Pharmacy Students Taking Med Chem 400 in Autumn Quarter

There is no specifically required organic chemistry textbook for the course. Any good standard organic textbook is a useful source of information, and you will be expected to use it. We hope you have access to such a textbook. However, more material comes from Paula Bruice's Organic Chemistry, now in 5th edition, than from other books, and references to this text are provided in the course.

Used copies of the 5th edition of this book or the 4th edition (only small changes were introduced in the 5th edition) can be obtained for reasonable prices from internet vendors during the summer. NOTE, however, that these sources dry up by the beginning of class because other schools have earlier starting dates.
