DESCRIPTION OF HOUSING: Students in the 3rd year Internal Medicine Clerkship Students who need housing will stay in the University of Alaska Anchorage Student Housing on Sharon Gagnon Lane. This is off of Bragaw Street, between Providence Drive and Tudor Road, for those of you familiar with Anchorage. It is within easy walking distance of the WWAMI office, Providence Hospital, the Alaska Native Medical Center, and bus stops with connections to most of Anchorage and the facilities used for the Clerkship. The description below is generally accurate, but specific details may vary slightly. Unfortunately, families cannot be accomodated in housing.

WHAT IS PROVIDED IN APARTMENT/DORMITORY? The apartment has a living room, bathroom, kitchen, and storage area to be shared by the occupants of the four bedrooms. The kitchen has all of the necessary cooking ware and small appliances (coffee pot, microwave). The bedrooms have bed linens and pillows. The bathroom has towels and cleaning supplies, but additional cleaning agents and paper products are the responsibility of the student. The storage area can be used to store bikes, ski equipment, and similar equipment. Each bedroom is equipped with a cable modem internet connection. Please bring your own laptop if you have one. You will need to use a dial-up modem to access the Internet.

WHAT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE STUDENT BRING? Music, alarm clock, computer.

TRANSPORTATION: A car will be provided to students who do not have a vehicle available to them. In some cases, the car will be shared with another student. All students will have an unlimited bus pass for the Anchorage transportation system. Please contact Dr. Wilder if you do not have access to a car.

PARKING FACILITIES? A parking sticker for UAA parking will be provided for parking on campus, including the student housing.
