ARE PAGERS PROVIDED? Communication through cell phone use. Wireless computer access is available at the hospital and the condo.
DESCRIPTION OF HOUSING: Fully furnished 3 story, 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath townhome. Medicine student has access to master bedroom and second bedroom on top floor for family or friends. Lower level living area and bedroom could be filled with another visiting UW student. Shared kitchen area on main floor. Full laundry facilities. Borders SJMC campus. 3 blocks from town square. Family and/or friends may visit but please inquire with Jody regarding availability as there are occupancy regulations. Spouses/families welcome for the entire 6 week clerkship, please advise at scheduling time. Absolutely NO PETS allowed in this condo. Additional overflow housing for your family and friends is available through St. John's Medical Center at The Hitching Post across the street from the condo. Please see Jody for details.
WHAT IS PROVIDED IN APARTMENT/DORMITORY? Furnishings, linens, iron, dishes, kitchen utensils. Kitchen items: coffee pot, mixer, microwave. Televisions, alarm clocks, radios, cleaning items, mountain bike. Should be everything you need except for food..
WHAT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE STUDENT BRING? Music, DVD player/IPOD, laptop, bike helmet, binoculars, camera, clothes that layer for changes in the weather, backpack, gear for outdoor activities.
TRANSPORTATION: Condo borders hospital campus and is 3 blocks to town square. Local START bus stop located on same block as condo. You may wish to bring your own bike as it is a popular and easy way to get around the area. 100 miles of bike paths, not including mountain trails. The hospital provides one mountain bike for the students use. Sometimes there are three available. Many commercial airlines fly into Jackson Hole via Salt Lake City. A car would not be needed for the rotation, but if you wish to see Yellowstone or ski at Jackson Hole, it might be advisable to drive from Seattle (two day drive). For personal get-a-ways, rental cars are also available in town..

WILL STUDENT RECEIVE ADDITIONAL NOTIFICATION OR INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING HOUSING BEFORE BEGINNING CLERKSHIP? The student should contact Jody Holzinger regarding checking in. Jody will provide keys, directions to the condo and orientation information for your first day. In addition, Jody will contact you the week before your clerkship begins to arrange a time to meet and to obtain directions (email at: jholzinger@tetonhospital.org) (phone is 307-739-7514). Welcome packet, condo information and keys will be ready for pickup at the ER admitting desk. This provides convenience of check-in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
CAN FAMILIES BE ACCOMODATED IN HOUSING?Families are welcome to live with the student in the condo during the rotation, but this MUST be arranged with Jody, jholzinger@tetonhospital.org
