DESCRIPTION OF HOUSING: Fully furnished townhome. Medicine student has access to master bedroom. Two other bedrooms may be filled with visiting students. Two and ½ bath Townhome, 3 stories with full laundry facilities. Family and/or friends may visit but please inquire with Jody regarding availability as there are occupancy regulations. We are unable to accomodate spouses/families for the entire six week clerkship. No pets allowed. Additional housing for family and friends is available through St. Johns Medical Center at The Hitching Post. Please see Jody for details.
WHAT IS PROVIDED IN APARTMENT/DORMITORY? Furnishings, linens, dishes, kitchen utensils, microwave, VCR, iron, alarm clock, radio, television. Fully furnished gym is available in the hospital. Hiking, mountain biking and a recreation center are available within a six block radius of the housing and hospital.
WHAT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE STUDENT BRING? Music, CD player, alarm clock, bike helmet. St. Joseph's Medical Center provides free Up-to-date access for their employees, medical staff and students, as well as several other medical search engines .
TRANSPORTATION: Apartment is near the hospital (about a 15 minute walk). You may wish to bring your mountain bike, as many folks in Jackson get around that way. The hospital provides at least one mountain bike for the students use. Sometimes there are three available.
PARKING FACILITIES? Parking is provided at the apartment.
WILL STUDENT RECEIVE ADDITIONAL NOTIFICATION OR INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING HOUSING BEFORE BEGINNING CLERKSHIP? The student should contact Jody Holzinger regarding checking in. Jody will provide keys, directions and beeper. Contact Jody the week before your clerkship begins to arrange a time to meet and to obtain directions (email at: jholzinger@tetonhospital.org) (phone is 307-739-7514). Welcome packet, condo information and keys will be ready for pickup at the ER admitting desk. This provides convenience of check-in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
