DESCRIPTION OF HOUSING: Housing is provided in a newly renovated building. The Ft. Lewis Lodge (Rainier Inn) is near to the Madigan Hospital. Housing consists of living room, bedroom and kitchenette. WHAT IS PROVIDED IN APARTMENT/DORMITORY? Laundry, and kitchenette are provided. There is no cafeteria in the building. Wi-Fi is available in the lodging.
WHAT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE STUDENT BRING? Enthusiasm and curiosity.
TRANSPORTATION: Pierce County does have bus service to the base. Call 1-800-562-8109 or http://www/ptbus.pierce.wa.us/index.htm for specific route information. There are buses from downtown Seattle to Lakewood (Route 592) and connectors from Lakewood to Madigan Hospital (Route 206). Madigan does have free taxi service on base, as well as bus service.
