HOW IS MAIL/PHONE HANDLED? The housing does not include a land line. Please have mail sent to the clerkship office (above address).
ARE PAGERS PROVIDED? Pagers are provided for the clerkship. The housing has wireless internet. Internet is also available at the hospital, University, clerkship office and many shops around town.
DESCRIPTION OF HOUSING: Three-bedroom house one block from the Univ. of Montana campus. It is within walking distance of downtown Missoula and within a short drive of all clinical locations. No pets or smoking are allowed. The house is furnished furnished including a washer and dryer, linens and kitchen utensils. Library facilities are available on the U of M campus or at at St. Patrick Hospital.
WHAT IS PROVIDED IN APARTMENT/DORMITORY? Washer/dryer, television, microwave oven, all linens, and plenty of cooking utensils.
WHAT IS SUGGESTED THAT THE STUDENT BRING? Hiking boots, skiis, kayak, etc. A car or bicycle is a must.
TRANSPORTATION: Transportation will be necessary. A car or bicycle is a MUST.
PARKING FACILITIES? Yes—Please park next to in the garage behind the house, accessed by the alley. There is parking available to students at all clinical sites.
WILL STUDENT RECEIVE ADDITIONAL NOTIFICATION OR INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING HOUSING BEFORE BEGINNING CLERKSHIP? Students will receive e-mail notifcation prior to their arrival which will include housing placement, directions, attending assignments, etc. The email will also include an orientation schedule. Orientation occurs the first day of the clerkship. Any questions can be directed to Dr. Schlesinger or Megan at the phone/email listed above.
CAN FAMILIES BE ACCOMODATED IN HOUSING? This is dependent on the situation and time. If considering bringing your family, please contact Megan Twohig (mtwohig@saintpatrick.org) in Spring of your second-year when you receive your placement to ask about availability.
STUDENTS PLEASE NOTE: There will be no exceptions made to the above housing arrangements. If you have any problems with these arrangements, please contact the Academic Affairs Office.
