A Sorority With a Heart

Alpha Phi Sorority

Dr. Richard Page, head of the UW Medicine Division of Cardiology, accepts a check presented by Allicia Davis, vice president of chapter operations for Alpha Phi’s Sigma Chapter, on behalf of the sorority. To the left is Dan Peterson, assistant vice president for dewvelopment with UW Medicine.

The University of Washington’s Alpha Phi sorority celebrated the success of its second annual Red Dress Gala by donating half of the auction’s proceeds to UW Medicine. The women of Alpha Phi asked that their contribution go to the Division of Cardiology in support of women’s cardiac health, a primary focus of Alpha Phi Foundation.

The sorority members so enjoyed working with UW Medicine’s Division of Cardiology that they decided to donate the entire net proceeds of the upcoming 2007 event to UW cardiology. Division Head Dr. Richard Page is grateful for Alpha Phi’s generosity and looks forward to continuing this partnership with the sorority.

The 2007 Red Dress Gala, with a fundraising goal of $45,000, is scheduled for November 3 at Seattle’s Renaissance Hotel.
