It’s simple. You make a gift to UW Medicine, and enjoy an immediate tax deduction. In return, we pay you a fixed income every year for life — an income protected from fluctuations in the stock market or in interest rates. Then, after your lifetime, your gift will support the UW Medicine program of your choice (research, teaching, patient care — whatever is most important to you).
Here is how it works. Let’s say you and your spouse are 70 years old. If you make a $100,000 gift to UW Medicine, you will receive a fixed payment of $5,900 per year (that’s 5.9 percent of the amount of your gift).
