UWMC is again ranked in top 1 percent of the best hospitals in the United States
UW Medical Center (UWMC) was again ranked in the top 1 percent of the best hospitals in the country in U.S. News & World Report's "2007 Guide to America's Best Hospitals." UWMC is the highest ranked hospital west of Rochester, Minn. and north of San Francisco in the survey.
UW Medical Center was ranked 11th in the nation among the 5,462 hospitals considered for this year’s survey. UWMC has been consistently ranked among the top hospitals nationally by U.S. News since 1993. Of the 173 medical centers ranked for their specialty services in this year's edition of America’s Best Hospitals, only 18 were named to the Honor Roll.
In the 16 specialty rankings rated by the magazine, 10 UWMC programs are now ranked among the top 20 in the country. The rehabilitation program, jointly offered at both UWMC and Harborview Medical Center, is now ranked third in the nation. The cancer program is now ranked sixth in the nation.
