Report to Donors 2006–2007
Message from the UW Medicine Campaign Chair
It’s the final stretch. We’re in the last year of UW Medicine’s — and the University of Washington’s — eight-year campaign. And I want to thank you for your participation.
Many of us have taken an active interest in this ambitious campaign, especially those who live in the Seattle region. We made a decision to give something extra to UW Medicine’s faculty, students, and programs; some took advantage of matching programs in order to strengthen UW Medicine’s endowment.
Now I know that not everyone is motivated by a campaign. And I know that people have their choice of many worthy causes when they think about charitable contributions. But the people listed in this book believe in UW Medicine, and that’s why they give.
Some give because their relatives had life-saving surgery at one of our hospitals. Others contribute because they remember the help they received from their favorite professors. And some give because they know that our faculty, from cancer doctors to stem-cell researchers, are at the top of their fields.
UW Medicine improves health and changes lives. And so do you. Thank you for your generosity.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey H. Brotman
