When the Western Washington Toyota Dealers Association (WWTDA) realized that Harborview’s reach extended into their communities — even farther, in fact — they decided to become the presenting sponsor of UW Medicine Salutes Harborview. The association made an unprecedented $1 million commitment over 10 years in support of Harborview’s mission of caring. “We are honored to be the presenting sponsor of the Harborview Gala,” says Alan Anderson, former president of the Western Washington Toyota Dealers Association. |
“Our 19 member dealers and their families, customers and suppliers recognize the critical role Harborview plays in health care for the citizens of the Pacific Northwest — and nothing demonstrates the commitment of the UW Medicine physicians and staff at Harborview, and the commitment of the Western Washington Toyota Dealers, more than the UW Medicine mission of caring.” UW Medicine is honored to partner with the WWTDA to produce UW Medicine Salutes Harborview. |
The combination of the “big three”— our work in patient care, research and education — sets UW Medicine apart. Most medical institutions don’t do the science, which is key to improving medicine.
Our hospitals are ranked among the best in the country, our medical school is consistently ranked No. 1 in primary care, and we receive more medical research funding than anyone but Harvard.
The UW Medicine health system includes Harborview Medical Center, Northwest Hospital & Medical Center, Valley Medical Center, UW Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians, the UW School of Medicine and Airlift Northwest.
UW Medicine’s work at Harborview Medical Center — and our commitment to the underserved in King County — is key to improving the health of all people, regardless of their ability to pay. We celebrate this commitment at UW Medicine Salutes Harborview.
Harborview is a giant in charity care. UW Medicine physicians and staff at Harborview provided $189 million of it in fiscal year 2011, more than any other hospital in the state.
Harborview takes care of everyone. It’s also a medical destination for people in the know, here and all over the world. It’s renowned for expertise in trauma, burn, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, vision care and more.
A hospital is only as good as its people. The UW Medicine personnel who work at Harborview are excellent doctors and healthcare professionals. They’re also nationally and internationally renowned clinicians, researchers and educators who push medicine to the next level.

World-class resources, right here in our backyard. They matter to our community.
And they matter to you and me.
