Milton R. Watson, M.D. ’60

Milton R. Watson, M.D. ’60, of Eugene, Ore., died on July 1, 2010, of complications from cancer. He was 75. Watson was born July 14, 1934, in Walla Walla, Wash., to Milton and Alice Sommers Watson. He married Shirley Kiel on June 20, 1958, in Lynden, Wash.

Watson graduated from Whitman College in 1956 and from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1960. He served in the Army as a surgeon in a field hospital in Germany from 1965 to 1968 and worked as a general vascular surgeon at St. Mary’s and Walla Walla General from 1969 to 1992. He then worked at Silverton Hospital until retiring in 1996.

Watson is survived by his wife, daughter Tammi Anderson of La Verne, Calif., son Mark of Eugene, and three granddaughters.
