A View From the Turner Reception: SlideshowIn October, UW Medicine held its annual recognition reception for the Turner Society, a group that includes our most loyal contributors. The topic was “Medicine by the Numbers,” and our guests included faculty, fellows and students from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. The IHME tracks health problems and health programs, follows investments made by governments and others, then determines if resources are improving health. Thanks to Christopher J. L. Murray, M.D., D.Phil., the director of the institute and a professor in the UW Department of Global Health, and his colleagues, our guests had an entertaining — and enlightening — evening. |
