Thank you for your interest in MEDEX Northwest. For over 40 years MEDEX has been training a diverse group of individuals for PA practice in the Pacific Northwest. The key to the success of this program has been the involvement of a broad group of preceptors—Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Clinical Pharmacists and others who provide clinical opportunities and instruction to MEDEX students. These are the many that train our students in their clinical year.
It takes dedication and selflessness to educate the next generation of medical providers. If you harbor a sense of responsibility for the future of medical care we invite you to join us in this mission.
You can play a part by taking one of our students for a clinical year rotation. As a primary care program our biggest need is the 4-month family medicine rotation. But our program also includes a series of 4-week clerkships across the WWAMI region that include the following:
- Inpatient medicine
- Emergency medicine
- Behavioral medicine
- General surgery
These clerkships are designed with the intent to give students direct ‘hands-on’ patient contact under the supervision of the clinic or staff physician, PA, NP, etc.
At MEDEX we are proud of the fact that our graduates have gone on to work in communities where healthcare access is limited. Our students are prepared to contribute to and actively shape the changing landscape of US healthcare, and you can help assure their success.
If you’re interested in becoming a preceptor for Clinical year students please
