Charles E. Phillips, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, was born on August 22, 1931 in Wilmington, DE, the eldest son of John Phillips and Marian Boyer. He died May 4, 2014, after a period of declining health. Charles was a man of faith, defined by a life of service to family, country, friends and his patients.

Charles enlisted in the US Air Force after high school. He had 21 years of honorable, military service as a medic, until retirement in 1970.

Charles started his second career as a student at the University of Washington MEDEX Physician Assistant program. He graduated in 1971 with Seattle Class 2. He went on to work as a Physician Assistant at Group Health Cooperative, Northgate for 20 years.

Charles was a member of Epiphany Parish of Seattle (Episcopal) for over 42 years. He enjoyed bowling, and played recreational men’s softball until age 50. Charles was a Husky football season ticket holder and avid Husky fan. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the world with his family. He especially enjoyed driving across the country to the East Coast to visit family and friends into his seventies.
