Brian Taylor (Class 45) was assigned to the Group Health in Federal Way for his family practice preceptorship. When we caught up with him he was under the guidance of Liz Shuckhart, PA-C, herself a MEDEX graduate from Class 43 (2011). Prior to MEDEX Brian spent 5 years in general X-ray, computed tomography (CT), and interventional radiology (IR). “X-ray and CT are both fascinating niches, which have provided a solid foundation in anatomy and pathophysiology”, says Brian. “IR offered opportunities for experience in procedural work, enhancing my confidence in working with my hands.” Reflecting on his 27 months at MEDEX, Brian elaborates: “MEDEX has thoroughly filled in the remaining 99% of knowledge needed to care for my patients”.
