Mercy Laurino joined the medical genetics team in 2003. She provides genetic counseling to patients
referred for consultation in the Neurogenetics, Connective Tissue, Dermatologic, Cancer genetics,
and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Breast and Ovarian Cancer Prevention Program clinics. She is
currently the clinic coordinator of the interdisciplinary Pediatric Neurogenetics Clinic established
in 2005 at the University of Washington Center of Human Development and Disability Center. Her current
research interest involves enrolling participants in the Metabolic Spectroscopy as a Biomarker for
Huntington Disease Research study.
Mercy Laurino obtained her genetic counseling training from the University of Colorado Health Sciences
Center in 2003 with a Masters degree in Biophysics and Genetics. She obtained her Bachelor degree in Cell
and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington in 1998.
