Research Program:

Dr. King’s group studies the genetics of complex, common human conditions. The primary areas of interest in the lab are inherited predisposition to breast and ovarian cancer, inherited hearing loss, and genetic influences on schizophrenia and other major mental illnesses.

Our approach is to apply the tools of human genetics and genomics to identification and characterization of critical genes in informative families and populations. Our lab also applies genomics tools to the identification of victims of human rights abuses.

Investigator: Dr. King is American Cancer Society Professor of Medicine (Medical Genetics) and of Genome Sciences.
