About the Clinic: The Genetic Medicine Clinic at the University of Washington began over 50 years ago. We see adults and children and their families with known or suspected genetic conditions for diagnosis, genetic testing, genetic counseling, treatment, and coordination of care. Special areas of expertise include: cancer genetics, connective tissue disorders, dermatologic genetics, neurogenetics, autism, and cardiovascular genetics. Our clinic is renowned as a nationwide leader in the practice of Genetic Medicine, and serves as a resource for the entire Northwest region and beyond. Our mission is the clinical application of genetic principles and testing to diagnose genetic conditions, coordinate expert care for these uncommon disorders, assist families with planning to minimize or prevent disease, and to improve human health and promote understanding of genetically based variation.
